The Cornerstone Chorale has performed much of the core classical choral repertory, with special concerts aimed towards bringing music to segments of our neighborhood, which would otherwise be unavailable. Performances include:

2016

Fall: The Road Home: Music from the early American folk hymn tradition,  with selections from and influenced by shape-note singing, Southern Harmony, and the other American folk traditions.

Spring: Requiem by John Rutter; Verleih uns Frieden of Mendelssohn


2015

Fall: Reflections on Nature: Selections from the Rig Veda by Holst; The Song of the Birds by Janequin, plus music of Monteverdi, Schumann, Brahms, Barber, Ticheli, Whitacre.

Spring: Psalm 91 of Robert Scandrett; Haydn’s Mass for St. Nicholas and Bach’s BWV 45, Es ist dir Gesagt, with orchestra and soloists.


2014

Fall: Charpentier’s Christmas Mass at Midnight; as well as shorter pieces from different cultures celebrating the holiday season. Selections included pieces by Rachmaninoff, Duruflé, Palestrina, Scheidt, Kodaly, Willan, and Elliot Levine.

Spring: Mozart’s Requiem


2013

Spring: World concert premiere of “Just a Dream” by Grammy winner and neighborhood composer Aaron Scott; Holst’s Psalm 86 with organ and orchestra; Five Mystical Songs of Vaughan Williams; Schubert Mass in G.

Fall: Gesualdo and Britten, including selections from A Ceremony of Carols and Rejoice in the Lamb.
